Player Characters:
Aloris Cadrille
The reserved and secretive First Counselor(1) of the Blue Ajah, Aloris Cadrille's position is one of the most closely held secrets in the White Tower. Long regarded as one of the most esteemed sisters of the White Tower, she has never held a public position of authority, but still has mastery of Whiter Tower politics, despite her near-cloistered existence. Born to Cairhienin merchants in the town of Selean, along the Silk Path, nearly one hundred and seventy years ago, Aloris was generally assumed, by the Tower at large, to be a rather unexceptional sister, although albeit a very intelligent one. The exact timing of her installation as First Counselor is unknown, but believed to be within the last ten years. Aloris is suitable effective speaker, yet only moderately strong in the Power, and has still managed to attain respect and stature through long years of wise counsel and initiative.
Keiven Gaidin is bonded to Aloris. Keiven Magard Kincaid is a one-eyed Amadician warrior, trained by the Warder's Academy in the Way of the Blade.
Althea
Althea Farrelyn
Raised in the autumn of 998, Althea is one of the more active instructors within the Blue Ajah. Indeed, her keen administrative and organizational skills had been the major reason for their interest. It is said that on the very night she took the Oaths, she was appointed Assistant Mistress of Novices. Aptly, Althea spends most of her time aiding the Mistress of Novices with classes and private tutoring of both the Novices and Accepted. She also spends a great deal of her spare time with those Brown Sisters who make it their driving goal to determine the nature and purpose of Ter'angreal--her own talent for Insight of these Items proving to be a great asset. Althea's pertinacious stand for fair Justice has driven her to investigate matters and crimes not entirely within the realm of the Tower's concerns. Thusly, it is not unusual to see her get in over her head on occasion in these sort of investigative situations, considering her over-confident and stubborn Saldaean streak. She doesn't make the greatest criminal investigator, but she has a passion for it, and her tenacity does her service where her other short-comings do not.
Brannon Gaidin is bonded to Althea. Brannon Kincaid is a former Tar Valon Guardsman who is Andoran by birth. He follows the Way of the Wind.
Alwyne
Alwyne Marathelle of House Hune
Secretive and sometimes a bit imperious, Alwyne was born in Andor to a minor branch of House Hune. A girlhood spent living within the machinations of the court, although not as avid as those of Cairhien, made her a perfect candidate for joining the politically active Blue Ajah. Unlike some of her Sisters, she spends very little time in the Tower, preferring to travel instead, despite having lost her Warder to the Blight in 976. She has currently found her way to Caemlyn, and is busying herself in the heated political situation there, though only time will tell how long she will stay.
Sev Gaidin is bonded to Alwyne. Sev is a lord of House Hune, of Andor, and close kin to Lady Rennar, the High Seat of House Hune. He follows the Way of the Star.
Calyra
Calyra Frailean
Born the twin child of an Andoran innkeeper, Calyra's early life was indeed very normal and bright. She was taken into the Tower, upon having been spied that she might possibly have the talent to channel. As well as her twin sister, Qicalia. The two served their time in the White Tower to be Raised much at the same time, some fifty years ago. As soon as being Raised to the Shawl, Calyra chose the Blue Ajah, mostly for reasons of her own. Her interest in Shadowspawn led her to the intricate studies of their type and to this day, she remains somewhat an important person in the study of this field. By studying the filthy Shadowspawn, Calyra hopes to be able to perhaps aid in eradicating or at least diminishing the likes of all Shadowspawned creatures, and in this way create a better world for those living in it. Calyra Sedai is well-tempered, slow to anger, well-travelled, and indeed someone who strives hard for her Ajah.
Cetreise do Arveny a'Sorhen
Murandian by birth, and a Blue with a disreputable past, she has the Foretelling, manifesting itself through needlework , the resulting pieces kept securely among the most prized records of the Tower. Recently returning from a lengthy penance, Cetreise was known to be a bitter foe of the last Amyrlin. She is believed to have had many penances in her past, and she is despised by most of the Red Ajah, which some believe stems from her possible aid to a channeling man in Illian some years ago. Cetreise has again taken to a lengthy retreat from public affairs in a bout of ill-health brought about by the spate of Foretellings she produced. Recently, however, she was seen in the thick of the battle outside the Shining Walls astride one of her pair of fierce destriers, Champion, but upon a clandestine return to the Tower, her activities have been unknown.
Elivet Asne Carnayar
A young Saldaean sister, Elivet was raised in the thick Kadsaza Forest near Maradon, and prefers the outdoors towards studying or other activities that keep her within walls. Despite her age, she is a trusted operative by the Amyrlin Seat. She had a miracuously short period as an Accepted, a feat some credit to her running afoul of a secret society of women, and the Amyrlin's response, that she happened upon while in Illian. Elivet was the protégé of Dianys Mathenos. She currently is assigned as a regional administrator for Blue Ajah Intelligence, which requires her to be stationed in Illian, a city she loathes.
Juran Gaidin is bonded to Elivet. Juran Beriago was born of Tairen fisherfolk. He follows the Way of the Blade.
Esmaya Alian Corrantes
A junior Blue Sitter, Esmaya Sedai is a vocal critic of the Red Ajah, and something of a rogue among her more sedate Sitters in the Hall. She is a bold and persuasive speaker, given to short, explosive speeches rather than reasoned debate, and indeed her installment in the Hall is a bit of a puzzle. Relatively young to hold her position, she is a favorite of the adventurous younger sisters who balk at the conservatism and formality that governs White Tower life. She is believed to hold covert assemblies of like-minded sisters at her private run of rooms over a milliner's shop on the Agoran Way. Esmaya has a respectable array of informers in choice cities and capitals.
Airo Gaidin is bonded to Esmaya. Airo Isagad is a son of a lesser line of House Isagad of Sheinar, and a celebrated warrior. He follows the Way of the Star.
Neri
Neri ni A'lan t'Tandres (Neri Tandres)
The Mistress of Novices, Neri was born in the remote Two Rivers region of Andor, but she has lived a dashing life of adventure and intrigue, with episodes in Caemlyn and Fal Moran, as well as more in Tar Valon. She seems a magnet for excitement, so much so that many deem her ta’veren.
Pepa
Pepa Calvira Delmar
A truly Altaran Blue who has been associated with the Tower for some time now, not entirely ancient but old enough to have a few ties here and there. She is known to be blunt and to the point and not at all afraid to use the dagger she has carried for most of her life. Most of her work is done in the more disadvantaged areas of the world, supposedly helping those who are stuck in misfortune though her demeanor usually seems to the contrary.
Perseinde Heria Apeneos
Punctilious Blue of Illianer heritage, she has served many years as the Aes Sedai advisor to the Kings of Saldaea, and she set herself up in semi-retirement in Maradon upon the death of the last King of Saldaea, the current queen’s father. Her reasons for returning to Tar Valon are unknown. She is a moderately affective healer. Seeing the blithe and warm reception Roseana Sedai received upon her return to the Tower after a lengthy sojourn of exploits and missions from members of the Blue Ajah, Perseinde Sedai resigned her seat, and sponsored Althea as her successor. The political in-fighting between Perseinde and Roseana has laid bare a deep chasm amid the Blue Ajah, even as they do try to conceal such to outsiders. In time, Roseana left the Tower on a mysterious mission, and Perseinde reclaimed the seat she had held for years.
Kirs Gaidin is bonded to Perseinde. Kirs do Parhan a'Doerne is reputedly the brother of a king-dead Murandian king, making him a prince by birth, although it was so long ago, no one really is sure. He is paramount among the Way of the Star.
Roseana Locani
An older Blue with a sharp tongue and more than vocal about what she thinks, Roseana has made more than a few enemies in the Tower. Prone to spend decades away from the Tower at a time, she is often busy in remote areas of the world, where Aes Sedai are not as welcome as others, including Tear and Amador. Her returns to Tar Valon are usually for her own reasons, and even within her Ajah its not entirely certain what her agenda is. It is known that she has a penchant for old texts, and seeks them out to check for any mention of the Age of Legends. After a fierce and protracted political war of wills, Roseana took a seat in the Hall of the Tower as Senior Sitter, only later to abandon the position. The political in-fighting between Perseinde and Roseana has laid bare a deep chasm amid the Blue Ajah, even as they do try to conceal such to outsiders.
Saorla
Saorla Davrene
Saorla Davrene came to the Tower from the capital city of Saldaea, Maradon, under rather clouded circumstances. The daughter of a fairly successful ice pepper merchant, she adjusted to Tower life rather easily, though it was murmured she spent a bit too much time in the practiceyard. As an Accepted, she was taken underwing by Althea Sedai by becoming her assistant, and even to an extent, Roseana Sedai was an influencing force. Upon taking her Oaths, she immediately requested audience to ask, and was given, the Blue Shawl. That night also saw two other big happenings for the young Sedai - she was offered a position as an Assistant Mistress of Novices and she Bonded Akorin Sulinor Gaidin. Cheerful, quick with a joke or a kind word, Saorla is frequently seen chatting with Novices or the commonfolk round the Tower. When not busy with her office or teaching, she can be found in the Library or with some of the Yellow Sisters discussing her other passion, Healing.
Akorin Gaidin is bonded to Saorla. Akorin Sulinor is the head of the Way of the Blade.
Sielle Goravina is a stocky, powerfully built woman and was born an Altaran farmer's daughter. Through her long years as an Aes Sedai has cultivated a reputation as a fierce and tenacious fighter. She reviles most of the Red Ajah, who return the sentiment. Sielle also is on poor terms with her fellow Sitters for the Blue, whom she suspects of collusion against her. Sielle recently bonded a new warder, a slender Domani fellow with honey eyes and well turned-calves named Ariq, who she seems to treat like an impetuous, feckless son. Sielle is reknowned for being a collector of fine art, and her suite of rooms in the Tower houses a collection as fine as that of many kings'.
Amaryl
The estimable Amaryl Beidaren is by rights the High Seat of a minor Ghealdanin house, yet she affects the arrogance of a queen with armies at her back. Never seen without her full and impressive collection of sapphires and blue jades, she is not very liked by anyone, inside or outside her own Ajah. The novices fear her and her lectures on the science of politics and the four theories of governance are among the most demanding the Tower has to offer. Amaryl has served two lengthy tenures as a Sitter for the Blue, but she now devotes herself to her two volume treatise on the monarchy of Ghealdan. Some suspect that she was required to forfeit her seat.
Belonde
An extreme rarity among Aes Sedai, Belonde Amisi married her warder, a Cairhienin named Armanes, and together they have raised three children, only of one whom still resides in Tar Valon. Belonde’s passion is the rights of the poor, and she frequently makes secret visits to Tear to rally the people against the unjust rule of the High Lords. She also bears a lengthy scar across her flank from when a Tairen armsman managed to loose a crossbow quarrel at her for channeling "illegally" in that country.
Deylin
A serenely aloof Tairen Blue, Deylin Nianche is one of Aloris’ closest advisors, having been taken into her inner circle of advisors many decades ago. It is oft speculated that Aloris has been grooming her to replace her, should anything befall her, for all that such talk is deeply guarded amongst the Blue Ajah. Deylin Sedai was once the advisor to Queen Malenroe I, of Andor, long ago, and is believed to have tugged the strings of many of the houses of Andor to affect the resolution of the most recent Andoran Succession.
A plump, merry Illianer, Dianys Mathenos speaks with the typical sing-song accent of her countrywomen. By all accounts a brilliant woman, Dianys has spent practically no time in the Tower after her raising. It is believed that the shrewd competent Dianys is the Hall’s finest operative when it comes to bending the ears of recalcitrant rulers. Still, she is not a woman without her quirks. She flatly refuses to set foot on a ship, and even has great difficulty crossing rivers. Her warder is a wiry Tarabonner named Tajif. She was the mentor of Elivet Sedai.
Doreine
One of the finest Healers in the Tower, Doreine Falle is a tall dignified Andoran, with tranquil set of blue eyes, and flaxen hair she styles into to long plaits. Doreine is known to be a fine artist as well, and she has taken to the pursuit of cataloguing the various human bodily systems together with several Yellows, and diagramming them to fine degree through her ability with paints. Doreine is seldom seen outside the company of her secretary Susain Wouren, much to the annoyance of her warder, Loras.
Edaine
A popular figure among the Blue Ajah, Edaine a'Morell was a novice under the tutelage of Calandrin Ibanaad of the Yellow, and they remain close despite Edaine's choice of Blue over Yellow. Edaine shares duties in the Tower's hospice, for she is an accomplished Healer.
Geria
A sister who is Murandian by birth, Geria Munin is known to frequently return to her homeland, believed to be acting at the behest of the Amyrlin on mysterious errands believed to be intended on solidifying the rule of King Veim do Parhan a'Vahry. Geria is married to her warder, Dacen Hurill. Geria is also a very talented Healer, and works in the White Tower wards to keep her skills sharp. Geria remains close to Elivet Sedai for she is envious of her bright future, but keeps that concealed in her heart.
Galenni
A slim, lovely Arafellin, Galenni Varizova dotes upon her four horses like a mother would her children, housing them in a private stable outside of Darein town. Galenni is considered quite strong and capable, and is one of the few Aes Sedai to have much skill working with metals. Galenni became quite content and popular in her home village when she discovered as a wilder that she could 'sense' rich ore deposits in the nearby hills. Only a chance visit by a party of Yellows en route to see to a recurring plague put her in mind of coming to the Tower. She is bonded to Alliser, a handsome Andoran.
Harret
Blunt-spoken and with a no-nonsense demeanor, Harret Norwell is competent and well-regarded Blue sister. Harret Sedai is a good friend of Esmaya Corrantes and serves, informally as her aide and secretary, despite being a good deal older. Harret once angled for a seat in the Hall, but has resigned herself to serving those who do.
Iomaelle
Plain and motherly, but with a quicksilver temper, Iomaelle Souran is one of the most respected Blues in the Tower, largely because she is a skilled peace-maker, with friends and allies in every Ajah. Iomaelle once served as an advisor to the Panarch of Tarabon, whom she regarded as a daughter of sorts. Iomaelle is currently in seclusion, still reeling from the sudden death of her warder, Mandryn.
Lewella
An Andoran Blue, Lewella Brehon is a close associate of Dianys Mathenos, and is believed to be her right-arm woman, so to say. Lewella Sedai is a genial woman, who quickly puts people at ease with her warm, maternal style. Lewella is one of Aloris Sedai’s oldest protégés, is many of the Blues snipe, covertly, that she was ‘attached’ to Dianys by Aloris to keep tabs on her. Lewella Sedai has one warder, Jayme Corindeos, a spectacularly handsome Illianer swordsman.
Leryin
A slim, pretty-faced Ghealdanin, Leryin Thuril is a member of the Blue Ajah, but remains on excellent terms with Rasuna Bayani of the Green. Less than one month apart in age, they became friends from their time as Accepted together. Leryin is one of the most powerful sisters in generations, yet she downplays her strength and, for the moment, assists Sielle Goravina, one of the Sitters for the Blue, as her secretary.
Tall, and handsome, Marinae Cerime bears a livid hanging scar upon her slim throat, the remnant of her abortive hanging in her native Bellon, Amadicia, when she was a young woman, suspected of being too handy with herbs. A man whose sister she once saved from the White Fever cut her down as soon as it was safe to do so, and through some miracle she did survive. They fled to Tar Valon, and upon her raising to the shawl, she bonded that man, Cevin, as her warder. She currently resides in Illian, helping administer the vast Blue network of eyes and ears, particularly those in the nations along the Sea of Storms, in addition to being on the ruling council of the "Tower by the Sea."
Osmad
An extremely senior Blue of Domani heritage, Osmad Azil keeps her figure as trim and fit as an woman a fourth her age, and she tends to her complexion with an astounding array of unguents and creams. In truth, the only sign of her great age is her silver, shining hair, which she wears loose and flowing. Osmad was once seriously considered for the Seat, but she waved off the notion, and proceeded to leave Tar Valon without tidings for fifteen years, returning with a handsome young warder, and dozens of ter’angreal she found in a small village in the Carallain Grass.
Shimazu
Dry and formal, Shimazu Castovan is Kandori with the height and coloring that suggests. The daughter of an innkeeper, she prides herself upon her organizational abilities, and thinks she could manage a sizable inn herself, were she not an Aes Sedai. The Hall often takes advantage of her skills, deploying her on several missions to attend to the needs of refugees. Shimazu is bonded to Kuril si Rozadi, a lord’s son from Saldaea.
Surin
Exotic and mysterious, Surin din Corai Three Pearls is originally from the Sea Folk, and she often scandalized her fellow sisters by sunning herself in the gardens, after doffing her blouse. Surin is known for her fabulous signing voice. Each year, she takes a ship down the Erinin to spend time in Mayene, and be near her beloved ocean. She is a close friend of Cetreise.
Tiaza
Imposing and attractive, with fierce black eyes and long red hair, Tiaza Rosoinde is a Saldaean lord’s granddaughter, for all that such lofty origins are ignored by the Tower. Tiaza is a newly raised Blue, and has been taken under wing by Aloris Sedai, acting as her amanuensis and secretary. It is believed that Aloris uses Tiaza as an inlet into the mood and temperament among the younger sisters. Tiaza is notorious as a prankster, and her mischievous nature impeded her progress as an Accepted.
Valia
An agêd, admired Blue sister, Valia Corgarin was considered one of the reigning doyennes of the Blue Ajah, although she is in a state of semi-retirement. Valia Sedai is another of the 'exiled' political foes of Elsbedhe Bodwell, and has returned to Tar Valon at the direct request of the Amyrlin Seat. Prior to her 'withdrawal' she had taken Aloris Cadrille under her wing as a protégé. Upon her return, she now she serves as an informal advisor to Esmaya Corrantes. It is quite likely that she has served as First Counselor.
Valizia
It is often said that Valizia Tezhere should have chosen Green, for her belligerent manner and rambunctious lifestyle, not to mention she herself has openly pined for more than one warder. Valizia is Saldaean and is rumored to have an amazingly vast personal network of agents. Valizia is a skilled player of stones, and fancies herself the equal of any general. She likes to spend her free time riding her monstrous battle-trained stallion in the countryside near Tar Valon. She is bonded to Ibrahim, a Domani who seems inured to her temper. She is friend of Cetreise.
Accepted and Novices Who Are Puppeted By Blues:
Asellia
The volatile daughter of an Ebou Dari shipowner, Asellia Salengari is the defiant leader of her own clique of novices, despite the efforts of the Mistress of Novices to disperse them. Asellia is expected to develop a fair amount of strength in the One Power, but many sisters despair of teaching her the proper comportment of an Aes Sedai. Aloris Cadrille has taken in an interest in her training as a novice, perhaps in recognition of her nascent leadership abilities.
Aizan
A tall, athletic Accepted born of fierce Saldaean horsemen, Aizan Gashari is a new-made Accepted and seems to have a keen interest in politics and intrigue. Esmaya Sedai has taken her on as a protégé. Aizan can, more often than not, be seen walking towards the Mistress of Novices' study with a guilty look on her face.
Elsbedhe
More than slightly plump, and with rosy cheeks and guileless blue eyes, Elsbedhe Darmwill looks better suited to a place as a baker's girl than as a student of the White Tower. She wears her straw colored hair as a set of plaits that are strapped across the top of her head, with a few tendrils spilling loose around her ears. Elsbedhe is the sole daughter of a bread-maker in Market Sheran in Andor. Cetreise a'Sorhen has seemingly taken an interest in her training as a novice.
Ceraine
A rather tempestuous Altaran with a streak of wild temper, Ceraine Nadora is an Accepted in her fourth year. Rather skilled at working with weather, her major field of interest is the degree of literacy among the poorest of her native Rahad in Ebou Dar. Ceraine is favored by Perseinde Apeneos, and often serves as her secretary and travelling companion.
Ilsena
Bold and boisterous, the Arafellin Ilsena Vochinan has her sights set on Green, yet remains close friends of Elivet Sedai, for they began their period of Acceptance on the same night, although Elivet has outstripped her. They are closely matched in strength, but Ilsena's progress has been hampered by her wild streak that earns her penance after penance, leaving her still as an Accepted. Ilsene has run away twice, but was returned under closely-guarded circumstances.
Ispan
A young woman from Tarabon, somewhat unfocused and gullible, Ispan Vonaal is a recently enrolled novice. Esmaya Sedai has taken an interest in her development. Born of successful rug merchants in Tanchico, she is a blocked wilder, requiring the presence of a loom to embrace the True Source.
Jarine
A tiny slip of a girl with dark eyes and a creamy tan complexion, Jarine is a seamstress' daughter from Maerone, near Andor, but within no nation. Attentive and sly, she has a habit of discovering things that the most believe are secret, and has a knack for ciphers and codes. Perseinde Apeneos has seemingly taken an interest in her training as a novice.
Niune
A timid young farmers' daughter from outside Fal Dara, Niune Harada arrived in Tar Valon with a party of sisters sent to the Blightborder to inspect the damage wrought by unusually heavy trolloc incursions. The sisters found Niune as one of the few survivors in her village, and brought her with them to the Tower when they discerned she had the inner spark. Elivet Sedai has taken in an interest in her training as a novice, and has a sisterly interest in her.
Solores
Tall and heart-rendingly beautiful, Solores Andiamo is the raven-haired daughter of a Tairen High Lady, and also astoundingly arrogant. Solores, in her third year of Acceptence, is known to be merciless in her schooling of novices. Still, for all her poor qualities, she is known to be very intelligent, and Solores is favored by Cetreise a'Sorhen, and often serves as her secretary and travelling companion. She is also rumored to tend Cetreise's network of informants during Cetreise's many absences from the Tower.
Networks of Eyes and Ears:
The Blue Ajah is believed to have the largest networks of agents, and many Blues have extensive personal networks, which are shared to some degree with other sisters of the Blue Ajah.
